Dry Needling

Katie and Courtney are highly trained in dry needling, an evidence-based technique that relieves muscle tension, reduces pain, and improves mobility—offered as part of your care at no additional cost.

Dry needling is a therapeutic technique used by trained physical therapists to treat muscle pain and movement impairments. It involves inserting thin, sterile needles into specific trigger points—tight bands or knots within the muscle tissue—to release tension, reduce pain, and improve mobility. Unlike acupuncture, which is based on traditional Chinese medicine, dry needling is rooted in Western anatomical and neurophysiological principles. This treatment can be especially beneficial for conditions such as chronic pain, sports injuries, and muscle tightness, helping to restore function and accelerate recovery.

Katie and Courtney both hold advanced certifications in dry needling and frequently incorporate this technique into their treatment sessions. Dry needling is an effective, evidence-based approach used to address muscle tension and pain, and it is included as part of our comprehensive care—at no additional cost to you.

A few common conditions we help treat with dry needling:

  • Chronic muscle pain and tightness
  • Neck and back pain
  • Shoulder impingement and rotator cuff pain
  • Tennis elbow and golfer’s elbow
  • Hip and gluteal pain
  • Sciatica
