Myofascial Decompression (Cupping)
Katie and Courtney are certified in myofascial decompression (cupping), an evidence-based technique that reduces muscle tension, improves mobility, and promotes natural healing—offered as part of your care at no additional cost.
Myofascial decompression, commonly known as cupping, is a manual therapy technique used to improve mobility, reduce muscle tension, and promote healing. It involves placing specialized cups on the skin to create suction, which lifts the underlying soft tissue. This decompression helps increase blood flow, reduce fascial restrictions, and stimulate the body’s natural recovery process. Unlike massage, which compresses the tissue, cupping works by gently pulling it upward, making it especially useful for tight or overworked muscles. It’s often used by physical therapists to enhance flexibility, reduce pain, and support overall movement efficiency.
Katie and Courtney are both certified in myofascial decompression (cupping) and regularly incorporate this technique into their treatment sessions. This evidence-based approach helps relieve muscle tension, improve mobility, and support the body’s natural healing process. As part of our commitment to providing comprehensive care, myofascial decompression is included in treatment sessions at no additional cost.
A few common conditions we help treat with cupping:
- Muscle tightness and stiffness
- Neck and back pain
- Shoulder impingement and rotator cuff pain
- Hip and gluteal pain
- Hamstring and quadriceps strains
- Sports-related overuse injuries
- Postural tension and fatigue
